Antwaan Randle El’s brother Marcus was found guilty of killing two people in February 2020. Marcus is a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The former Wisconsin Badgers football player was found guilty of the murders of Brittany McAdory, 27, and Seairaha Winchester, 30, after a two-hour trial and deliberation.
Marcus Randle El killed McAdory, according to the prosecution, in order to prevent her from being a witness because he believed Winchester had told the authorities about his drug dealing.
Although no murder weapon was ever discovered, text exchanges and video surveillance linked him to the killings. He was found guilty of having a pistol in his possession and driving against his will while doing so.
Soon after the crimes, Randle El, now 36, handed himself into the police and was charged with two counts of first-degree homicide.
He had previously done time in prison for kidnapping his daughter under duress and was on parole. He was accused of violence twice in 2005, once against a woman and once against a fellow Badger team member.
While Antwaan played quarterback at Indiana before switching to wide for the Steelers, he was a receiver for Wisconsin. In Super Bowl XL, Antwaan threw a touchdown pass.
After winning the Super Bowl LV as an offensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Antwaan is now the wide receivers coach for the Detroit Lions.
