Police in Euless A Texas bartender has been charged with over-serving a man who killed an off-duty police officer and critically injured his family after driving while intoxicated, according to police in Texas. Det. Alex Cervantes was killed and his wife and children were seriously injured when their vehicle was broadsided.
According to the Lake Worth Police Department, Cala Richardson, 26, is charged with one count of sale to specific persons, a misdemeanor, in relation to the death of Euless police Det. Alex Cervantes on November 7, 2021. She was taken into custody on Friday.
Despite having a suspended license to serve alcohol, Richardson served Dylan Molina, 26, while working the bar at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, according to the police.
When Molina left the bar and blew a red light, he hit Cervantes’ vehicle, killing him and injuring his wife and two children, according to the police.
At the time of the collision, Molina’s blood alcohol level was reportedly twice the legal limit, according to investigators.

As with the majority of catastrophic accidents caused by alcohol, this one decimated an entire family. J.T. Manoushagian, chief of police in Lake Worth, said. We promised to thoroughly investigate this terrible crime and bring those involved accountable, and today’s arrest satisfies that promise.
Molina was given a 15-year prison term on Monday after entering a guilty plea to the accusations brought against him.

Authorities discovered unnamed evidence after an inquiry suggesting Richardson over-served Molina before the accident. Alcohol sales to intoxicated people are forbidden by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code.
Richardson posted a $1,000 bond to be freed from police custody. She could spend a year behind bars and pay a $4,000 fine.
