According to police, a 15-year-old girl was detained and charged by New York City police with murder, arson, and other charges related to a fatal fire in the Bronx last week.
Just before 2:00 p.m. on January 29, FDNY firefighters rushed to a fire on Evergreen Avenue. When they got there, they put out the fire and discovered a deceased man inside.
Abdoukarim Sakolly, 27, a resident of the Bronx, has been named by police as the man.
By sharing a photo and a video of the person they were looking for to speak with about the fire, NYPD investigators asked the public for assistance in locating the person.
A 15-year-old girl was consequently detained and accused of homicide, assault, arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief.
The issue is still being looked into.
