Charged with felony criminal mischief is 35-year-old Brittany Marie Reynolds.
Police claim that a lady in North Dakota entered a Catholic church topless and smashed a statue of Jesus Christ. She is now being charged with a crime.
According to KVRR-TV, Brittany Marie Reynolds, 35, is accused of breaking into St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo, North Dakota, and damaging a statue of Jesus. She has been charged with felony criminal mischief.
She was allegedly seen sprinting from the church on Monday shortly after 6:30 p.m. without a blouse, bra, or shoes, according to the police.
Police claim that Reynolds was also captured on church security cameras flipping over a plant, destroying a statue, and then slamming it against a wall.
Documents from the court reveal that Reynolds may have been under the influence of narcotics.
The statue is reportedly more expensive than $11,000. This week, Reynolds was supposed to make a court appearance.
According to Valley News, after being taken to a hospital, Reynolds allegedly attacked a member of staff at the Essentia Health Emergency Room.
Reynolds wasn’t a church member, according to Paul Braun, director of communications for the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, who also noted that the neighborhood’s homeless population frequently uses the church as a place to stay warm.
“We were saddened to see the damage done to a very old monument at our Cathedral, and we hope the person responsible gets the care they need,” Braun added. “We are also praying for that person,”
