For the children is a common way to gain support for a cause.
And with good cause. The implication of the remark is that society has a responsibility to care for and protect children since they are valued.
Hillary Clinton, the head of the Democratic Party, however, used the expression in the most terrible sense in January when she said that lawmakers must “continue the struggle” to defend abortion “for our grandkids.”

The WIBC Mock ‘n’ Rob Show in Indiana exposed Clinton’s remarks on Tuesday, noting how she even spoke to abortions for her future great-grandchildren in a religious manner.
The hosts of the show replied, “Interesting Fact: When a doctor purposely ends your life while you’re still in the womb, it’s nearly hard to live up to your ‘God-given potential’.”
On a recent podcast, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former presidential candidate and secretary of state Hillary Clinton discussed foreign policy. Both of these women identify as Democrats and support abortion rights.
Pelosi called pro-life Americans “hypocrites” and “sell-outs” on the podcast for prioritizing the issue while casting ballots.
She said that she is the better person since “many of these folks, of course, are not having 13 children,” but added that “they were willing to sell the whole democracy down the river on that one issue.”
Clinton concurred with Pelosi’s remarks before citing their grandchildren as justification for their support of abortion.
We have twelve perfectly good reasons to get up every day and keep fighting for the future we want, said Clinton, citing Pelosi’s nine grandkids and his own three.
According to Clinton, her support for abortion “is actually for every child to live up to his or her God-given potential, not only for our grandkids.” That is the main focus.
Clinton, however, actively supports the murder of unborn children during abortions, which is a blatant contradiction of her claimed goal. If a child’s life is forcefully ended during an abortion, they have no chance to live up to their potential. Over 62 million unborn children have been killed since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973, or nearly 1 million every year.
Those unfathomably high figures represent a significant amount of “God-given potential” that abortions have unnecessarily destroyed. Tragically, despite saying they are doing the opposite, Clinton and Pelosi are supporting the continuation of this loss of human life.
