The ambassador gave an update on the state of several projects Japan is working with the Kingdom on, such as assistance with democratic development initiatives, work on election-related issues through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and strengthening collaborations between the executive branch and civil society organizations.
Sar Kheng praised Japan for helping with the projects and emphasized the value of its cooperation in creating new voter lists, which he said were crucial to the Kingdom’s electoral process.
While the government conducts the second phase of the National Strategic Plan, he stated, “I hope that the government of Japan would continue to support these initiatives, especially decentralization changes, and offer training for the sub-national administrations.”
