A 15-year-old girl is killed in a stabbing in Hexham, and a teenage guy is detained

The 16-year-old suspect in the murder is still being held by the police.

After a 15-year-old girl was fatally stabbed in Northumberland, a teenage boy was detained on suspicion of murder.

On Friday, soon after 5.10 p.m., Northumbria Police received a complaint about an injured teenage boy and girl in the Priestpopple neighborhood of Hexham.

When the boy and girl, who were 16 and 15 years old, respectively, received serious injuries “consistent with having been caused by a bladed instrument,” emergency personnel responded.

They were both rushed to the hospital, where the kid later sustained significant but not life-threatening injuries while the girl later passed away.

According to the police, both of their families are receiving care from professionally trained personnel during this terrible time.

“After an investigation was started, a 16-year-old kid was detained first on suspicion of assault and then for murder. He’s still being held by the cops.

“At this terrible moment, our thoughts are with all of our loved ones, and we are doing everything we can to help them.

“We are committed to learning what happened and holding those responsible accountable,” said the group.
